Birthday Party #3: The Final Showdown

And finally, we had the birthday party that we actually were planning all along. It was a gorgeous Colorado day, and we spent time with friends in the sun on our deck.

Claire requested books for her library, and her wish was granted! She got a few surprises, too!

For try #2 with cake, Claire first tried some frosting, which she decided was delicious.

Since that went well, Claire ventured into the world of cake. Turns out,she likes it!

So, of course, she had to play with it and smear it on her face. Yay!
